Let 2013 begin!

Let 2013 begin!

Happy New Year to you all!  I had a very grown-up NY with friends as all the “children” were off doing their own thing – who in their right minds wants to spend NY with the wrinklies!  I began the year with a lovely run wishing everyone a Happy New Year as I ran past, perfect and marvellous way to start 2013.

Having had the festive period off with very little running it’s wonderful now stepping up the distances again and attempting to get my speed up!

The first week of training was pretty relaxed as I eased my way back into the routine and this week I have done two new runs taking myself around lots of little country lanes, cross country and even came across some Ostriches which gave me a bit of a shock!  I don’t know about you but it does sometimes get very dull running in the same places all the time, so great to have done a couple of different routes.  I will have to get my map out and search for more that I can do next week – the excitement grows!

Tomorrow is my first speed session so lets hope my legs don’t fall off! Perhaps I should get someone to design me a pink motorised zimmer frame, that would definitely give me the edge, it might even catch on!

Last weekend I met a couple of lovely ladies Sarah Gardner-Hall and Amanda Boldy in London who are both taking part in the Ocean Floor Race in Egypt – lucky girls.  They have both trained hard are well organised and are really looking forward to their adventure.  I can’t wait to hear all about it and see their photos.

I’m really looking forward to my races this year they should be pretty epic.  I am also planning a HUGE and very exciting adventure for 2014 so watch this space.  It will take over a year to organise and a year to train properly for – if your gonna do something then its worth doing it as well as you can.

I look forward to following your running this year and hearing all about your races.

Day 4 DEEP snow!

Happy training
